"On This Day in American History"



On October 7, 1913, the first moving assembly line is introduced by the Ford Motor Company. The innovation – later adopted by countless other industries – drives down the price by dramatically increasing how fast each vehicle is produced, making the automobile affordable for the average person and dramatically changing Americans’ lives.
