Answer for question 4555.

Winter is coming and with it comes an increase in colds, flu, and other illnesses. What home remedies were you treated with when you were a child? Did you like them? Which do you still use today, if any, and which have you left behind?
Believe me the chicken soup these days is not the same as it was... I'm a vegetarian.. Who remembers "Cod Liver Oil"? Mom gave me that when I was a kid.. I remember house calls. For those of you that don't know what that is. Its when the local Doctor came to your house to check you out because you were too sick to go out. Its when they cared about you and not just the money.. These days its vitamins and staying away from crowds. Its too dangerous to breath out there with all the colds, strange sicknesses and bombs.. My Advice for the day is always sit with your back to the wall so you can see who comes in and always near the exits...

Chicken soup is very good. I gave some to #1 son when he came down with glandular fever and wanted to be released from hospital into my care, and he said it was yummy and DID seem to heal him.

We were never made to take cod liver oil. It was old fashioned by the time I was growing up.

We never had house calls when I was a kid. I did have one when I was an adult and too sick to go out.

I agree with you that there are too many strange viruses out there now.
